About the Event

Join FarmED bee expert Tony Yarrow on this interactive one-day course for beekeepers. Discover how Tony works with bees here at FarmED allowing colonies to grow strong and maximise honey production, and what we do in winter to prepare for the season ahead Read More...
During the day we will:

- Look back in detail at the 2024 season, what made it unique and what we can learn from it
- Discuss what bees do in winter. How analysing a floor insert can tell you all you need to know without disturbing the bees
- Consider whether, when and how to feed
- Learn to identify our main local honey plants from their pollen loads
- We'll also enjoy a fun honey-tasting session and discuss why different honeys taste so different
- FarmED beekeeper and Director of Cotswold Seeds, Paul Totterdell, will share his deep knowledge of floral meadows and how different species of pollinating plants affect honey production and flavour

There will be plenty of time for questions and to discuss different techniques with other beekeepers, and share the fascination of honeybees and their world.

Ticket price includes refreshments and lunch in the FarmED cafe.
