Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team on a regenerative farm near Chipping Norton. This is a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful rural setting, supporting our in-house chef in a busy catering kitchen that makes the most of seasonal produce straight from the farm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Washing and preparing freshly harvested vegetables to a high standard.
• Assisting the chef with general food prep duties as required.
• Operating and maintaining an industrial dishwasher.
• Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean, tidy, and hygienic at all times.
• Following food safety procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Occasional heavy lifting, such as moving crates of vegetables or kitchen equipment.

Requirements:

• Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks, including lifting.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Have your own transport due to remote location (no public transport available).
• Must have the right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a professional catering kitchen.
• Interest in sustainable food systems or farm-to-fork cooking.
• Experience working in a rural or farm-based setting.
