Agriculturalist
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Agriculturalist to increase the impact of the work at FarmED. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with a passion for regenerative agriculture, hands-on farming experience, and a proven track record in leading educational or outreach initiatives. Working alongside our Agricultural Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our demonstration farm, deliver educational programmes, and engage with diverse stakeholders to promote sustainable farming practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Engagement & Advocacy: Represent FarmED at conferences, events, and in the media, delivering talks and presentations on regenerative agriculture and its benefits.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, researchers, educators, and community organisations to further FarmED’s mission.
- Securing Long Term Relationships: Seek out relevant organisations that can benefit from FarmED’s expertise and facilities.
- Educational Programme Delivery: Lead engaging farm walks, workshops, talks and hands-on training sessions for visitors, including students, farming professionals and groups from the food, finance, environmental and governmental sectors.
- Research & Innovation: Support ongoing research projects related to soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable farming practices, and integrate findings into farm operations and educational content.
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, mentor, and support farm staff, interns, and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.

Cafe Supervisor
This Role
As the FarmED Cafe supervisor you will be working as part of a small but perfectly formed team with responsibility for the smooth running of our farm to fork Cafe. You will be looking after our cafe visitors as well as the range of guests and visitors attending courses and events. There may be a light lunch for 10 farmers one day, a seasonal feast for 100 conference guests the next, every day in the cafe is different!
This is no ordinary Cafe and we are looking for special person to ensure all our visitors have the best experience possible.
To be successful in this role you will
- Be an experienced supervisor working in a hospitality environment, cafe, restaurant, hotel or venue
- Enjoy being a flexible team player with a positive, can do attitude & great communication skills
- Be fluent in English
- Be able to drive and have your own transport due to the remote location
- Share the FarmED vision and core values; be environmentally conscious & have an interest in regenerative farming & food production.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise the Cafe team
- Co-ordinate the activities of the team making sure visitors are looked after in a warm, friendly, professional and timely way
- Prepare the monthly rota to ensure the Café is well staffed at all times
- Make sure the team have all they need to be effective in their roles, carry out coaching as required and highlight any training needs to the General Manager
- Carry out induction of new Café team members
- Oversee the daily smooth running of the Cafe
- Work alongside the FOH team to look after visitors to the Cafe; making coffee, waiting on tables, taking orders and clearing up
- Look after visitors attending courses, serving refreshments & lunches
- Undertake team briefings and communicate effectively with the wider team to make sure that events run smoothly
- Manage stock levels and ordering of drinks & disposables
- Carry out opening and closing checks and take responsibility for cash control system
- Work with the kitchen team to make sure the cake counter is always well stocked with minimum wastage and the highest of standards maintained
- Ensure that the standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times, especially at the end of service
- Make sure that the Health & Safety guidelines are followed
- Carry out daily visual checks, highlighting any concerns to the General Manager
- Ensure that the team are fully trained in allergen awareness & food hygiene
- Make sure a first aider is on duty in the Cafe at all times
- Ensure that all allergens are clearly marked on all menus & boards
- Be an ambassador for FarmED in all you do.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks designated by the Group Director & General Manager.

Kitchen Porter
As a FarmED Kitchen team member you will be working as part of a small team responsible for feeding our cafe visitors as well as the range of guests and visitors attending courses and events. There may be a light lunch for 10 farmers one day, a seasonal feast for 100 conference guests the next, and every day in the cafe is different!
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have experience of working in a hospitality environment, cafe, restaurant, hotel or venue
- Be fluent in English
- Have bags of enthusiasm
- Enjoy being a flexible team player with a positive, can do attitude & good communication skills
- Be able to drive and have your own transport due to the remote location
- Share the FarmED vision and core values; be environmentally conscious & have an interest in regenerative farming & food production.
Key responsibilities
- Pot Washing
- Cleaning - ensure that the standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times, especially at the end of service
- Vegetable preparation - assist with washing vegetables and salads from our kitchen garden
- Helping to manage the fridge and stock rotation to ensure no wastage
- Be an ambassador for FarmED in all you do.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks designated by the Group Director & Operations Manager.
We are seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our small team, part time (12 - 5pm) Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekend events.
£12.50 per hour, 28 days holiday each year (pro rota), share of tips, staff lunch and contributory pension scheme
