Getting Healthy in Toxic Times by Dr Jenny Goodman

“How can we protect ourselves from the pollution, chemicals and toxins that pervade our environment?” That’s the question at the heart of Dr Jenny Goodman’s latest book, Getting Healthy in Toxic Times. The connection between farms, food and health is of particular importance to Dr Goodman, who states that the health of the soil and crops on the farm has a direct influence on the quality of the food we eat and as a result, our health. By supporting farmers who utilise organic and regenerative practices to grow their crops, are we also supporting a food network that is healthier and more beneficial to us? Dr Jenny Goodman, medical doctor and a practitioner of ecological medicine for over 20 years, joins us for a FarmED Lunchtime Talk to talk about all of the above, as well as answer any of your burning questions.

About the speaker
Dr Jenny Goodman qualified at Leeds University Medical School in 1982, and is a member of the British Society for Ecological Medicine. She has specialised in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine since the year 2000. She has a particular interest in pre-conception care (fertility and making healthy babies), and in working with children.  
Jenny has lectured extensively, to other doctors, to practitioners of alternative medicine, and to the general public. She ran a case-discussion group for 10 years, where medical and naturopathic/nutritional practitioners share knowledge and clinical experience.
