Grow Your Own Vegetables

Join us for a Lunchtime Talk all about veg! Have you ever wanted to grow your own but don't know where to start? Dan, grower at The Kitchen Garden People (our onsite kitchen garden) is joining us to go back to basics. 

Hear from Dan as he gives you an overview of growing vegetables, from what's the easiest to grow, to discovering special varieties that supermarkets don't sell. Dan is on hand to help you decide what you really want to get from your veggie patch. TV programmes and the latest books are full of great ideas, but with so many options to choose from, and with only a limited amount of space in your garden, let's work out your priorities so every square foot of your veg growing can yield success!

About the speaker

Dan Betterton is one of the vegetable growers on Honeydale Farm. His business, The Kitchen Garden People, produces 180 veg boxes a week for members of the public as well as local restaurants and businesses. Over the past few years, Dan and his team have overcome adverse conditions and carrot conundrums in their quest to providing the community with delicious, regeneratively grown fruit and vegetables. This Lunchtime Talk is also aptly being held on International Fresh Veggies Day to get us in the mood!

Please arrive at 11:45 am. The talk will start at midday, and lunch will be served at 1:00 pm.

After the talk, you will get a freshly prepared, nutritious lunch from the FarmED Cafe where you will be able to network with other guests.
