Sustainable Christmas Wreath Making Workshop
Time & Location
Fri 06 Dec - 10:30 - 16:00
FarmED, Honeydale Farm, Station Rd, Chipping Norton OX7 6BJ, UK
About the Event
Spend a day at FarmED to create a beautiful and sustainable Christmas wreath, made from willow and freshly-foraged greenery from the farm. Read More...Learn a new country craft as florist Lauren Macadie teaches you to create a seasonal wreath that’s naturally beautiful and 100% sustainable.
The day will start with coffee and mince pies, before you’ll learn to make your willow frame. Willow withies, also known as willow rods or willow whips, are flexible willow stems that have traditionally been used for a variety of purposes, from basket weaving to thatching. One of the fields here at Honeydale Farm was originally called Withy Slade, referencing the willow trees that would once have grown near the water. Sourced from local tree surgeons, Chris Notman and Rhys Davies, the willow Lauren uses comes in a variety of attractive, natural shades.
Enjoy a farm walk to forage for wintry greenery, seedheads and berries to decorate your wreath and look forward to a seasonal one-course lunch from the FarmED Cafe, with coffee and a sweet treat.
This is a perfect event to share with special friends and family and you’ll be able to use the skills you learn to craft other wreaths and garlands throughout the year, using spring, summer or autumn foliage.
* There will be a maximum of 15 people for each workshop, to ensure you get some time for one-to-one tuition with Lauren, so early booking is advised.
