Join us for a powerful and down-to-earth evening with Jade Miles — regenerative farmer, CEO of Sustainable Table, and author of Futuresteading and her latest release, Huddle. From her heritage orchard Black Barn Farm in Northeast Victoria, Australia Jade lives and breathes the principles of regenerative agriculture, seasonal living, and local food systems. In this engaging book talk, she’ll share stories and insights from the land — exploring how growing food can regenerate ecosystems, build resilient communities, and reconnect us to what truly matters. Whether you're a grower, eater, or changemaker, Jade’s grounded wisdom will leave you inspired to dig in and be part of a food future that heals.

About the book - Huddle: Wisdom, skills and recipes for building a tomorrow of togetherness

In Huddle, Jade Miles takes the principles she established in her first book, Futuresteading, and broadens them out to examine the importance of community – that invisible, magical glue that binds us all together. Including conversations with prominent community leaders and Jade's own experiences at Black Barn Farm, this book is a practical, inspirational and evocative guide to the art of creating and fostering community ties.

About the author - Jade Miles

With the bush in her bones and business in her head, Jade Miles is a poly-jobist to her core — blending storytelling, food advocacy, community building, and regenerative farming into a life of purpose and impact.

A long-time local food advocate, Jade founded her local Food Co-op, hosts the Futuresteading podcast, and is the author of Futuresteading (2021) and Huddle (2025). She lives and farms with her family at Black Barn Farm, a biodiverse heritage orchard and nursery as a you-pick, where they grow food, run workshops, and host school programs that reconnect people to land and seasonal living.

Jade has taught drama in the bush, hitchhiked through Central America, set up local-food cafes in Cambodia and Vanuatu, and worked in strategic development for values-led enterprises. Now as CEO of Sustainable Table, she leads the organisation’s bold shift from education to national food systems transformation — funding and supporting regenerative projects across Australia.

Whether preserving homegrown produce, advocating for shorter supply chains, or building communities around food, Jade’s work is rooted in the belief that food is both sustenance and solution.

She joins the dots with clear-eyed honesty, celebrating simplicity, urging us to redefine success, and build resilient communities — for now, and for the next seven generations.

“Every decision we make has an impact – on other humans, creatures and ecosystems. How you make your decisions will have a degenerative, sustainable or regenerative impact” – Jade Miles
