About the Event

Learn how Wooltiliser, an award-winning chemical-free wool-based fertiliser, turns unwanted British wool into healthier soil and stronger more resilient plants. Read More...

Join Eddie Mordue, founder of Traditional Garden Growers, for an engaging session on soil-first growing and sustainable fertilisers at FarmED, where he began his career in the market garden with Dan and Emma, The Kitchen Garden People. Much of Eddie’s knowledge about soil health, vegetable growing, and natural fertilisers was born here, making it especially meaningful that he returns to share his experience.

Eddie will explore the development of Wooltiliser, his chemical-free, pelletised fertiliser made from neglected British sheep wool. He will explain why wool is an ideal natural fibre for growing: its slow to break down, moisture retaining, and a valuable food source for soil organisms, turning a low-value by-product into a practical, research-backed solution for healthier soil and more resilient plants. Attendees will understand how Wooltiliser works through a deep dive into our research with the University of Reading, which demonstrated measurable improvements in soil structure, nutrient availability, and plant health.

The session will also cover the bigger picture of resilience: how healthy soils lead to fewer inputs, fewer pest problems, stronger, more resilient plants, and improved biodiversity over time. Research with the University of Reading underpins these findings and confirms Wooltiliser’s benefits to soil health and the environment.

Please arrive at 11:45 am. The talk will start at midday, and lunch will be served at 1:00 pm.
